Going To The Old Country

My Foma took us to Williamsburg last Saturday.  We were suppose to go for a walk through the historic area with a few other hounds and enjoy the beautiful day.  Well that didn't happen. So many people came by to see us and ask questions.  It turned into one big pet and hug fest and I loved every minute of it. I gave lots of people kisses as a thank you.

There was lots of cool things to see.

My foster siblings told me all I needed to do was stand around a look cute.
It was really good advice. I can do that in my sleep.

Bring on the hugs.

Getting Out And About

My Foma kept her promise to take me on outings last week.  Thursday we went to what was called a doggy blood donor night.  It was a bit overwhelming for me when I saw so many greyhounds all in one place.  They all donate blood to help save the lives of other pets. Those folks from BRVBB were really nice and let me give them lots of kisses.  I didn't have to donate that night but maybe my forever family will sign me up so that one day I can donate too.  You can check it out ahead of time at dogsdonateblood.   My fosters siblings said it was no big deal and they got yummy treats. I like the sound of that.

Since I wasn't donating, I got to play outside.  I also got to play with a little dog. At first I followed him everywhere but then I found out he was just a tiny version of me. Foma was awfully particular about that little dog but I'm not sure what the big deal was.

Finally there's better pictures of me.

Be sure to come back and see where else I've been.  Is your adoption application already done? Did you ask for me?  I can't wait to meet you and start our forever life together.   See you later. I'm going to put my next story together.

Playing Is Hard Work

I'm back.  I've been trying to relax and have a little fun with this retirement thing.  My Foma let me come upstairs and play all by myself.  I searched every inch of that room for things that might be toys.  I admit I guessed wrong on a few items but I quickly learned to stick to doggy approved toys.  I collected a few on a bed and then settled down for play time. Foma played with me for a bit but I was just as happy playing by myself. I liked rolling around on my back and trying the crab at toys behind me. It was fun but eventually I got tired.  No need to find another bed. I just stayed like this and went to sleep.

Sara Saying Hi

Hi Everyone.

Sara here.  It's been a while and I thought I should catch everyone up on what's been going on with me.  I was in a very nice foster home where I learned a whole lot about retirement.  I mastered shiny floors, stairs, house training and alone training.  Then it was time to see if I could learn 'Cats'!  Turns out I'm not perfect at everything but I sure had fun trying.

Last weekend I went to meet a few families at an adoption event.  I had a great time meeting people, especially the kids.  Then I was loaded up and sent to a new foster home.  My new foster mom has two houndies of her own and they've been really nice to me.  We get along great.

I've been busy showing my new Foma all the cool stuff I know how to do.  I'm not afraid of anything. I've checked out the whole house including running up the stairs all by my self.  I'm very good with those wood floors too.  I go right in my crate when it's time to eat and I wait politely for my food.  I even slept in my crate the first night to show Foma that I don't get up to potty in the middle of the night.  Now I get to sleep with her and the other hounds in her room on a dog bed.  So far I've only had to show her my wake up skills once.  She told me I don't need to put my paws on the bed to give kisses so now I try to wait until she's ready.  Foma says I get an A+ for kisses.

Foma has taken me out for walks and she says I do really well on the leash.  I don't pull or get spooked by traffic and I'm not afraid to go potty in the special spots.  Foma says I can go with them now in the car to all the fun places she goes with her pups.  She promised to take pictures that I can show everyone.  She's only taken a couple and so far I'm not impressed with her photography skills.

I need her to learn to capture my good side.

That's me checking out my new neighborhood.  I'm really not that wide. You can't tell but that's my foster brother Tapper.  He was a good shoulder to lean on. I'm not going to tell him that Foma cut off his head.   Foma said I didn't need to speak to everyone that passed by but I thought I was being polite and letting them know I was there.  I will work on a better way to say hello because I want all the neighbors to like me.

While I'm working on making new friends, maybe you could fill out an application to be my forever family.  I really want one of my very own.  I'll have Foma work on taking better pictures so I can show you how pretty I am.

Sara Shall see you next time.
